The Fernox TF1 Antifreeze Valve 28mm Compression is designed to protect water-based air source heat pump systems from damage caused by freezing temperatures.
When the temperature of the system fluid falls below approximately 3°C, the valve automatically opens and releases a small amount of system water. This helps prevent ice from forming within the heat pump circuit and protects vulnerable components and pipework from potential frost damage.
The valve is manufactured from durable brass and is designed for outdoor installation in the coldest part of the system. It must be installed horizontally with the outlet facing downwards to allow discharged water to drain freely.
Fernox recommends installing an antifreeze valve on both the flow and return pipes. The valve is supplied individually with installation instructions and is covered by a 5-year warranty.
