The Fernox Electrolytic Scale Reducer 22mm Compression is an in-line water treatment device designed to help prevent the build-up of limescale throughout the home.
Using electrolytic principles, it alters the structure of hardness salts in the water, encouraging them to coagulate and helping reduce the formation of scale in appliances and hot water systems. It provides whole-house protection against limescale and is effective immediately after installation.
The scale reducer is maintenance-free and can be installed on horizontal or vertical pipework using 22mm compression fittings. Under average domestic water usage, it can remain effective for up to 10 years, depending on water usage levels.
The unit is made from forged, nickel-plated brass and is WRAS approved. It is pressure rated to 10 bar at 20°C and is designed for cold feed applications.
Fernox Protector F1 500ml is a high-performance central heating inhibitor designed to provide long-term protection against corrosion and limescale formation in domestic heating systems.
It combines multiple corrosion and scale inhibitors to protect the metals within the heating system and help prevent the formation of damaging sludge and deposits. Enhanced pH buffering helps maintain system water between pH 6.5 and 8.5, the optimum range for protecting mixed-metal heating systems.
One 500ml bottle treats a heating system of up to 130 litres, 16 radiators or 250m² of underfloor heating. Protector F1 is suitable for all types of boilers, radiators and pipework systems and is compatible with commonly used heating system materials, including aluminium.
For best results, contaminated systems should be cleaned and flushed before adding Protector F1. Fernox recommends checking inhibitor concentration annually as part of routine boiler or heating system servicing.
